The death of Reta Florence Sturgeon wife of the late Kenneth Sturgeon of Losier Hall, Miramichi, NB and formerly of White Rapids, NB, occurred on October 2, 2025, at the Miramichi Hospital at the age of 95. Born in White Rapids, NB, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mariah (Sullivan) Sturgeon.

Reta is survived by her son: Bentley Sturgeon (Twila) of Gray Rapids, NB; daughter-in-laws: Lois, Betty and Joan; son-in-law: Vaughn; sister: Grace Astle (late Hiram) of Quarryville, NB; grandchildren: Trent, Andrea, Fearonie, Allan, Andrew, Natasha, Melissa, Malcolm, Kayla, Alex, Mariah, Rebecca and Allison; nine great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Reta is predeceased by her children: three infant daughters; daughter: Sheena and sons: Kenneth, Fearon and Irving.

The family would like to thank the staff of Losier Hall and Doyle Court for the compassion, care and kindness they have shown to Reta. They would also like to extend a thank you to the staff of the Miramichi Regional Hospital for taking such good care of Reta in her final days. Your care will not be forgotten. 

The family will receive visitors at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Blackville, NB on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 2-4PM & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11 AM with Father Gerry Laskey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Anglican Cemetery, Gray Rapids, NB.
