It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Terence “Terry” Dolan. Terry left us August 31st, 2024, at the age of 92. Surrounded by loving family during his final days, he lived life to the fullest and on his terms. A beacon of love to all who knew him, his absence leaves a huge void in our hearts.
Born on November 8th, 1931, in Dublin, Ireland, Dad came to Canada in 1958 in search of a fresh start. He found that and much more when he met Lois, the love of his life, in 1961. It was love at first sight, and they would embark on a wonderful journey that lasted 63 years. Terry had a deep connection to the Miramichi, and Bay du Vin in particular. After a colorful career that included stops with CN Police and Bank of Canada, he and Lois retired to the shores of Miramichi Bay for 27 blissful years.
A fixture at Miramichi’s Irish events, he was very proud of his Celtic roots. He enjoyed a glass of Jameson and a cigar now and then, always with a twinkle in his eye. His greatest achievement and a constant source of joy was his family. He loved fishing, running and watching Jeopardy. He volunteered with the CNIB when he wasn’t watching soccer or the Patriots. In 2003, he fulfilled a lifelong dream, attending a Notre Dame football game in South Bend, Indiana with his boys. Long live the Fighting Irish!
Forever in our hearts, we are immensely grateful for ...
