The Chatham Head Rec Centre annual smelt fry will be held Saturday, February 14, 2025 from 11 am until 4 pm, or until we run out.

The meal will include all you can eat deep fried smelts, plus potatoes, pickles and a roll with tea or coffee and a piece of homemade blueberry cake with warm brown sugar sauce.

The price for this meal is $20 per person. Take-out orders will be available, which will include smelts, potatoes, roll and dessert (not all you can eat).

Our committee wants you to know that we have worked hard in our efforts to be efficient and shorten wait times. Some of the changes this year include the addition of a 4th fryer, purchasing 1000 lbs of smelts, and a change to our take out process.

Take out orders will be picked up at the bar with a different ticket to avoid extended wait times. It's recommended that those ordering more than one take out bring a reusable grocery bag. We hope to be able to avoid running out so early with the additional smelts and to make our smelt fry the best on the river!
