Mayor Adam Lordon presnted Walter O'Toole with a certificate honouring the efforts in the community to operate the seniors centre for the past 50 years. The centre was formerly a 2 room school that was built in and closed in 1974.

Happy 50th Anniversay to the Friendly Neighbours Seniors Club in Nelson!
For 50 years now they have been providing friendship, commmunity, and support for local seniors in Nelson and the entire region. They’ve also helped countless people of all ages in Miramichi with their events and efforts.
It was my pleasure to join them for their celebration luncheon. Congratulations to President Walter O’Toole and all their members on your anniversary! And thank you for all you do!
