The passing of Jimmy Hughes, husband of Linda (Gamblin) Hughes, of Losier Hall and formerly of Miramichi, NB occurred on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 82. Born in New Glasgow, NS, he was the son of the late James and Christine (MacDonald) Hughes. Before retirement Jimmy was a Pipefitter and a member of the Local Union 325.

Besides his wife, Jimmy is survived by daughter: Angela Tobias of Saint John, NB; sons: Grant Hughes (Adele) of NFLD, Shawn Hughes of NS; sister: Brenda Huntley (Bill) of Calgary, AB; brother: Gary Hughes (Judy) of NFLD; grandchildren: Emma, Abigail, Madelyn, Luke, Marcus, Annissa, Brooke; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
