It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jerry (Jermiah) Wallace, husband of Dorothy (MacArthur) Wallace, of Miramichi, NB, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Percy’s Place at the age of 85. Jerry was born in Miramichi, NB, and was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Casey) Wallace of Miramichi, NB.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Wallace; sons: Michael (Trudy) of Miramichi, NB, Patrick (Saara) of Fayetteville, GA; four granddaughters: Layne (Logan Wilt), Lexa (Mark Jardine) both of Miramichi, NB, Vaya, Zyla both of Fayetteville, GA; a great grandson expected to arrive in February; brothers: David (Donna) of Edmonton, AB, Peter (Margaret) of Miramichi, NB; sisters: Mary Ellen “Nellie” Reynolds, Lourdes Jackson (Carl Hayes), both of Quispamsis, NB, Marie Legere (Al) of Moncton, NB, Bernadette Kenny (Joe), Andrea Wallace Lynch both of Miramichi, NB; sister-in-law; Carolyn Wallace Bremmer of Miramichi, NB; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother: Patrick Wallace; nephew: Paul Wallace; brothers in law: Bill Reynolds, Larry Jackson, Patrick Lynch, Sam MacArthur; sisters in law: Marjorie (Savoy) MacArthur, Barbara (MacArthur) Doncaster; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

 Jerry was a retired plumber, pipe fitter, gas fitter, instrument fitter, working in the construction industry and was a lifetime member of UA Local 325 with 66 years of service. Jerry and Dorothy enjoyed ballroom dancing lessons, clogging, line dancing, square dancing and were members of the Plus Tippers and Square Riggers Square Dance Clubs. After retirement Jerry and Dorothy travelled extensively on their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, visiting 49 of the US states, including Alaska, and across Canada nine times. They also camped around New Brunswick and Nova Scotia with their 5h wheel trailer and enjoyed attending Bluegrass Festivals.

At Jerry’s request there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 26, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at 10 o’clock with Fr. Anthony Dass Papu officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.
