Hiram Willis Waye, born January 26, 1976, in Miramichi, New Brunswick, to parents Vernon and Arlene Waye, passed away peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Sunday, November 16, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.
Hiram grew up in Trout Brook, where he enjoyed his early years and completed his education at North & South Esk Regional High School.
Throughout his early work life, Hiram worked at Zellers, Juniper Lumber Company, and HSF Foods Limited.
Since 2009, he built a long and fulfilling career at Marty’s Electric, working alongside close friends and serving customers throughout the St. John River valley community with dedication and integrity. Hiram was admired for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and kindness.
On July 31, 2004, Hiram married his beloved wife Shianne (née Darrah). They spent their married life together in Holmesville and Oakland, raising their lovely daughter, Lily, who was born in December of 2005. Hiram enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with friends, and was always quick witted to tease those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife Shianne, daughter Lily, mother Arlene Waye, sisters Kimberley DeVillier (Doug) and Jill Saunders (Andy), mother in law Diane Darrah, father in law in Neil Darrah (Valerie), sister in law Shannon Darrah, brother in law Travis Darrah, his niece and nephews. Hiram was predeceased by his father, Vernon Waye.
The Waye family offers heartfelt thanks to the many physicians, nurses, hospital staff, and the Extramural nursing team who provided exemplary care for Hiram over the last 2 years.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol, NB on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 from 11:00 am ~ 2:00pm.
A private interment will take place in the Good Corner Cemetery.
