Hannelore Mazerolle (Czaja)

  • Nov 17, 2025

With sadness, the family of Hannelore Mazerolle (Czaja), formerly of Miramichi, New Brunswick, having resided in the care home of Complex Rendez Vous in Neguac, New Brunswick, for the past eight months, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 86 years.

Born in France, on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Josef Czaja and Emma Czaja (Lemke).  Her beginnings were full of strife and sorrow as she was born the year of the 2nd World War and was six years of age when it was over.

She was the loving wife of the late Jeremie (Jerry) Mazerolle for 40 years, and she will be missed by her daughters: Brigitte (Paul-Eric) of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Patricia (Roberto) and Christianne (Jeffrey), both of Neguac, New Brunswick; son, the late Marc Rene (Jo-Anne); grandchildren: Allain (Nadia), Michel (Jackie), Marcel (Kristen, Denis (Celine), Jesse, and Samuel; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Callie, Chase, Maddex, Lennix, Jaxon, Capri, Olivia, and Emma; as well as a special mention to her lifelong friend, Jeanine Mazerolle, whom she loved dearly; and her sister and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents: Josef and Emma; siblings: Frederick, Lizalotte, Helen, Elizabeth, Beno, and Gunther; husband, Jerry; son, Marc Rene; in-laws: Norbert and Josephine Theriault; and sister-in-law, Ginette (Jean Claude).

Her journey began at the young age of 17 upon marrying and starting a family, which she reached the shores of Canada, due to her husband’s military deployments, with many more to follow.  Her talents and creativity were many, from needlework, crochet, ceramics, to tending to her beloved flower beds.  She had great insight to discussion on world views and history and taught us to think for ourselves.  We will always cherish these abilities and gifts she gave us.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude and thanks to the staff of Complex Rendex Vous in Neguac, New Brunswick, for their considerate and amazing care for our mother, for us and all those who came to visit her.

At Hannelore’s request, there will be no visitation or mass held for the public.  A private Celebration of Life will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick.  Interment will be in Sainte-Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick

Arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, telephone (506) 773-3492.  Memories and condolences may be shared at www.adamsfh.ca
