Gladys Eva (Somers) Savage of Mount St. Joseph and formerly of Lower Newcastle passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 12, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born in Matthews Settlement, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Effie Somers.

She will be greatly missed by her children: David (Diane), Carol Ann (Rupert), Barbara (Harold), Richard and Glen; grandchildren: Jennifer (Ronnie), Leah (Chris), Tanya (Kevin), Tara (Shane), Danielle, Matthew (Katrina), Wade; great grandchildren: Leslie, Kyle, Owen, Percy and Henry.

She was the last remaining member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her husband, Percy; and her son: Danny.

The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 2-4 and 7-9pm.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
