History of Dixie Lee in Chatham

  • In 1966, the original restaurant was located on Duke Street where the gas bar is currently situated. The restaurant operated there until 1977 when a new restaurant was built on King Street and the original restaurant was demolished.
  • Around 1980 the restaurant expanded with the construction of a dining room.  The basement of the building was intended for receptions and weddings, but that part of the business was never realised
  • The Dixie Lee franchises in this region are owned by a company from Campbellton.
