The passing of David Earl Kay, husband of Norma (Austin) Kay of South Nelson, NB, occurred on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 76. Born in Sackville, NB, he was the son of Marjorie (Reid) and the late Donald Kay. David was a steamfitter and was a member of Local Union 325 for 57 years.
Besides his wife and mother, David is survived by daughters: Kelly Doyle (Pat) of Quarryville, NB, Krista Kay (Wayne) of South Nelson, NB; son: David Kay (Trisha) of Midhurst, ON; sister: Debbie Loftus (Dave) of Moncton, NB; brother: Allen Kay (Rose) of Dieppe, NB; grandchildren: Kelsey, Megan, Carter, Allie, Charlie, Ethan, Ella, Taylor; great grandchildren: Kyron, Kenton; step grandchildren: Tyson, Ryan, Joseph; special friend: David King; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, David is predeceased by brother: Donnie Kay (Linda); nephew: Donald Kay.
Following the families wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton, NB, later in the spring.
