City, groups, embark on mental health initiative

QR code is discreet way to find services

The last few months have seen several area organizations come together to develop an initiative aimed at raising awareness for local mental health support services.  The partnership between the Greater Miramichi Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Newcastle Business District, Historic Chatham Business District, The Great Miramichi Regional Service Commission, Miramichi Addiction, Mental Health & Suicide Prevention and the City of Miramichi will now be launching the Mental Health Support Window Sticker.  

The window sticker displayed at local businesses will enable passers by to scan a QR code that will lead to the contact information for local mental health support services available.  In creating an easy, discrete way to find important information, we hope to both start the conversation, ease stigma and provide information for those who need it most.
