Brent William Tozer
October 31, 1953 – October 6, 2025
Brent William Tozer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at Percy’s Place. His unwavering spirit, generosity, and warmth left a mark on all who knew him, and his legacy will be treasured for generations to come.
Brent grew up in Sunny Corner, NB, in a lively household guided by his parents, Budrow Sr. and Beryl. Alongside his siblings—Brenda, Sharon, Budrow Jr., Gail, and Tal—Brent’s childhood was filled with adventure, laughter, and the occasional mischief. His zest for life was evident from the start.
Brent’s life changed forever when he met June, a quiet and gentle soul, in high school. Their differences only drew them closer, and they married in November 1974. Together, they built a loving home and welcomed two daughters, Cara and Melissa. Brent was a proud father, and his devotion to his daughters was unwavering. He cherished every moment spent with his family, and his daughters were proud to be called “daddy’s girls.”
Brent’s proudest title was that of “Poppa”. He treasured the arrival of each of his six grandchildren: Brendan, Samuel, Lillian, William, Hudson, and Gabriel. As Poppa, he was fun, generous, and always ready with a joke or a treat. His grandchildren quickly learned that Poppa never said no, and their bond with him was truly special.
Brent embodied the entrepreneurial spirit. Over the years, he managed a donut shop, a pop store, grew a mechanical seal business, became a commercial landlord, and owned a dollar store. His drive to work and grow his businesses was matched only by his love for connecting with people. Brent valued the friendships he made along the way, many of which lasted a lifetime.
He was also passionate about politics, especially when it came to supporting his favorite “blue team.” Brent was never shy about sharing his opinions on current events and always enjoyed a lively discussion.
In retirement, Brent and June found time to enjoy life’s quieter moments. Winters in Florida brought new friendships and peaceful days spent on the porch, reading the news and watching the world go by. Golf became a favorite pastime for both. In 2024, Brent and June celebrated their fiftieth anniversary with a dream trip to Italy, creating memories they would cherish forever.
Brent leaves behind his beloved wife and soulmate of 50 years, June; his devoted daughters, Cara (Matthew) and Melissa (Brody); and his cherished grandchildren, Brendan, Samuel, Lillian, William, Hudson, and Gabriel. He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda and Sharon (Phil), his brother, Tal (Patti), his sister-in-law, Gay and many nieces and nephews. Brent was predeceased by his parents, Budrow Sr. and Beryl; his sister, Gail; his brother, Budrow Jr.; his brother-in-law, Glenn; and his nephew, Jeff.
The family would like to thank Dr. Losier and the staff at Percy’s Place for their extraordinary care and compassion during Brent’s last days. Also, a heartfelt thanks to the staff of 4 West and the Extra-Mural nurses for their excellent care.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th, from 4-7 pm at Jardine Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Highway, Miramichi, NB. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 11th at 11 am at River Church, 2601 Route 420, Sillikers, NB, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Percy’s Place or River Church, in Brent’s memory. Messages of condolence can be sent through the funeral home website: www.miramichifunerals.ca
Brent’s laughter, kindness, and determination will be remembered by all who knew him. His smile could light up a room, and his magnetic energy made every moment brighter. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
