The death of Mr. Arthur Joseph Savoie husband of Annonciale (Arsenault) Savoie of Brown Road, Miramichi, NB, occurred at his residence on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in St. Wilfred, NB he was the son of the late Jim and Roseanna (Doiron) Savoie. Arthur was a retired school bus driver with District #16. Over the years he also did many other things including owning a Garbage Removal Service and working as a Trainor with the Boxing Club in Chatham Head. Arthur had many hobbies, he enjoyed jogging, dancing in his cowboy boots, playing guitar and singing. He was even a member of the Silver Knights Band, but most of all he loved the good old-fashioned kitchen parties with his family and friends. He was a former member of the Invisible Fists Karate Club and earned his first black belt at the age of 69.
Besides his wife, Arthur is survived by his children: Sandra Cyr (Chris) of South Esk, NB; Nancy McGraw (Steve Gorman) of Miramichi, NB; Lawrence Savoie (Wendy) of Miramichi, NB; Vince Savoie of Miramichi, NB; siblings: Francine Savoie (Roy Vautour) of Neguac, NB; Geralda Savoie of Toronto, ON; Marcel Savoie (Anita Caissie-Turcotte) of Neguac, NB; David Savoie (Fernande McGraw) of Val Comeau, NB; Amond Savoie (Vicky Vautour-MacCallum) of Cocagne, NB; grandchildren: Vanessa Savoie, Monica Houlihan, Derek Savoie, Billy Joe Savoie, Nathan Knight, Alyssa Knight, Chelsie Knight, Natasha Parks, Kerrie Parks, Corey McGraw, Jaden McGraw and Jordan McGraw; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Arthur is predeceased by his siblings, twin brother: Edward, Armond, Leodore, Joe, Jean-Guy, Louise, Theresa, infant son, Gary and son-in-law: Claude McGraw.
The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Nelson, on Wednesday at 11 AM with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Please note that a reception and celebration of Arthur’s life with music will follow at The Classic, 20 Fountain Head Lane, Miramichi, NB.
