With profound love and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Anna Loreen MacDonald (Connors) announce her peaceful passing on November 9th, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most.
Born and raised in Boom Road, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Annie (Cain) Connors. Mom was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, true grit and quick wit which remained with her until the end. If there was a way to help someone, Mom found it. She worked for 25 years at Mount St. Joseph, dedicating her days to others with quiet strength and compassion and with no need for recognition. After retirement, she poured that same energy into serving her community: volunteering with her church, the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen where her famous hamburger soup was loved by all and ensuring that warm clothing made it into the hands of those who needed it most, year after year.
Mom embraced life with joy and a sense of fun. She loved playing cards (especially when she could walk away with her family’s nickels), spent many Wednesday nights at bingo with her bingo crew, and rarely missed her weekly hair appointment with Jane. She enjoyed pickling, canning, yard sales, shopping, and any excuse to be with her family. If something was happening, Mom was going to be there.
Mom is now reunited with our Dad and the love of her life, Henry MacDonald.
She leaves behind her beloved children: Karen (Joe) of Black River, Brian (Sharon), Dale (Jill) and Lori (Tim), all of Miramichi. Mom also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Doug (Aaron), Dana (Brent), Terri (Andrew), Amy, Greg (Shelby), Kaylee (Brennan), Connor (Jenna), and Ryan; and a growing legacy of numerous great-grandchildren. Left to mourn are her siblings: Inez Metevier, Florence Donovan, Ruth Longtin, Marjorie LeFebvre, and Kenny (Claudia) Connors.
Mom was predeceased by her siblings: Edith Stewart, Marian MacDonald, Dorothy Harris, Harold Connors, Arthur Connors, William Connors, and Bobby Connors
She held a special bond with her niece, known lovingly as her “bonus daughter,” Kim, and treasured her dear friends, Gerry and Lorraine.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at the Miramichi Regional Hospital for their outstanding care. A special note of appreciation goes to Grace, Sharon, and Elaine, who cared for her with tenderness, dignity, and compassion in her final days.
Mom’s life was defined by service, love, laughter, and family, and perhaps by how many bingo cards she could play at once. She will be remembered in every jar of homemade pickles, every yard sale treasure hunt, and every Wednesday hair appointment.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved. In the words of her grandchildren "Everyone deserves a Nanny Horsey in their lives".
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 14th, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Gary Churchill officiating.
