Friday morning Miramichi Fire Department crews responded to fatal crash that happened near Oak Point. A 50 year old man died at the scene.
A two-vehicle collision Friday morning on Highway 11 near Oak Point, N.B. has claimed the life of a 50-year-old man from Neguac.
Miramichi Fire Department and Neguac RCMP responded to a head-on collision, at approximately 8:30 a.m. on October 7, 2016, involving a transport truck and pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck, the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene as the result of his injuries. The driver of the transport truck was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist assisted in the investigation and traffic was detoured for several hours. The investigation is continuing.
Guy Cormier - 1966 - 2016
Accidentally in Oak Point, Friday, October 7, 2016, at the age of 50 years, died Guy Cormier. He remained in Neguac. Born on 24 August 1966, he was the son of the late Robert Cormier and Jeannine LeBreton.
Guy is survived by a son, Jovan; the mother of his son, Carole LeBreton; one brother, Yvon (Albertine) Neguac; his niece and goddaughter, Josée; his nephew, Kevin; her godmother, Claudette Comeau and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Cormier was an electrician by profession and co-owner with his brother of the company R.Y.G. Cormier Electric.
The family will receive friends between 2pm - 4pm and between 7pm - 9pm Tuesday, October 11th at the Salon Robichaud & Fils, 50 Otho Street, Neguac. The funeral will be held at St. Bernard Church in Neguac, Wednesday, October 12 at 2pm.
