It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Lynn Webber, who peacefully departed this life on March 31, 2025, at the age of 68, in Hythe, Alberta.
Growing up in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Wendy was the eldest of five siblings and came from a large family who she cherished many memories with. She spent most of her life in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and dedicated over 30 years as a Registered Nurse, a career that reflected her kind and compassionate nature. She had a special way of making people feel cared for, whether through her warm laughter, her unwavering love for family and friends, or the tight squeeze of one of her signature hugs.
Wendy had a natural warmth for creating a home that welcomed all. She was a wonderful cook, gardener, and home decorator, always putting her heart into everything she did. She loved flowers and had a gift for creating the most beautiful flower arrangements. Wendy adored her “grand dogs”, had a special love for animals and couldn’t resist stopping to greet every passing dog she met. Her faith was deeply important to her, providing her with strength, comfort, and valued friends.
Wendy will be deeply missed by her husband, Emil Webber; her daughters, Julie Webber (Lannie) and Ashley Webber; her mother Iona Taylor; her siblings, Cathy St. Amand (Yvon), Danny Taylor (Shelly), and Carol Leah Taylor; as well as several cherished aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Mervyn Taylor, and her sister, Linda Lahey (Michael).
Wendy’s gentle kindness and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a loving friend in the lives of so many, and her presence will be forever missed.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital and Wendy’s care home, Pearson Place in Hythe, Alberta. Wendy was surrounded by exceptional love and care from her nurses and palliative care team, which provided great comfort to her family. A very special thanks to the Wilson family who were so lovingly supportive to Wendy and her family this past year.
A private memorial will be held this spring to remember Wendy’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in her memory.
