It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Anthony “Tony” Elwood Sturgeon, husband of Christine (Boyd) Sturgeon of Miramichi, NB, who passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the age of 76. Born in Blackville, NB, he was the son of the late Elwood and Josephine (Keenan) Sturgeon.

Tony was retired from REPAP, where he worked as a pipefitter. He was a member of St. James and St. John United Church, Miramichi, where he enjoyed getting together for coffee with some of the church men on Mondays and Thursdays. Tony also enjoyed playing darts and hockey, collecting hockey cards, and more recently, playing pickleball.

Besides his wife, Tony is survived by his daughters: Amanda “Mandy” Blake (Jeff Warner) of Miramar, Florida, and Kyla McAlpine (Jon) of Lunenburg, NS; his siblings: Peggy Avard (Peter) of Moncton, NB, Cindy Stewart (Danny), Diane Sturgeon, and Perry Sturgeon, all of Blackville, NB, and Heidi Sturgeon (Troy Hollowood) of Halifax, NS; his grandchildren: Sebastian Blake and Caeli McAlpine; as well as several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Kayci. ...
