The death of Mary “Sheila” (McGrath) Bohan, wife of the late Earl Bohan, occurred on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 92. She was a resident of Parkland in Douglastown, NB and formerly of Nelson-Miramichi. Born in Chatham and raised in Barnaby River, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Hackett) McGrath. Sheila worked for the Department of National Defense and was a member of the National Association of Federal Retirees (FSNA). Sheila was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Chatham Head until its closure and then attended St. Samuel’s Roman Catholic Church, Douglastown.

Sheila is survived by her siblings: Greta Bohan (Harold) of White Rock, BC; Anna Peplinski (Dominic) of Miramichi, NB; Elaine Howard (James) of Vancouver, BC; Robert McGrath (Elizabeth) of Miramichi, NB; sister-in-law Helen McGrath of Miramichi, NB; godchildren: Daryl McGrath, Colleen Bohan, Greg Peplinski and Sean McGrath as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Sheila is predeceased by brothers: Joseph McGrath and Jackie (Peggy) McGrath.

At Sheila’s request there will be no visitation. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Samuel’s Roman Catholic Church, Douglastown, NB on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 2pm. Burial will follow in the Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery.
