Rosemary (Rose) Bourguignon (née Gorman), passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2025, at the age of 85 in Moncton, New Brunswick. She is survived by her children, Robert, Thomas and Michael; her grandchildren, Dominic, Gabrielle and Maya Rose; her brother, Michael Gorman; and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Ottawa, Rose was one of 11 siblings, all of whom had children (35 in total), and whose children had children, resulting in a large and ever-growing clan affectionately known as “the Gormans.”

Rose will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her sons and her grandchildren, and for the life she shared with her husband, the late Robert (Bob) Bourguignon. Together, Rose and her musician husband delighted in attending weekly jam sessions, bingo nights and penny sales, the latter of which Bob invariably won, resulting in an accumulation of knickknacks that took up only as much space in their basement as Bob’s infamous Christmas village would allow.

A memorial mass will take place Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11 AM in the side chapel of St. Michael’s Church in Miramichi, N.B. With Fr. John Fraser officiating. The mass will be followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Newcastle.
