Robert “Bob” Leland Stephens, husband of the late Marian Stephens of Miramichi, passed away in Moncton, NB, on November 27, 2024, at the age of 89.
Born in Pleasant Point, NS on July 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Emmett and Edith Stephens. He worked as an Electronic Technician for many years.
He was a true and compassionate artist, teaching Oil Painting to many people over the years. His own art work centered around fishing scenes stemming from his early life experiences fishing with his father in Lockeport, Nova Scotia (where he grew up).
He was an avid birder and could often be seen with his binoculars and bird book. Many of these sightings became inspiration for his bird carvings.
Robert “Bob” is survived by three daughters: Susan McGlinchey of Fredericton, Cheryl Lee (Ambrose) of Markham, ON, and Wanda Dorris (JP) of Moncton; five grandchildren: Laurinda (Bob), Jeremy (Rebeka), Lana (Derrick), Roxanne, and Danielle; five great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Peyton, Zoey, Noah and Maddy; two sisters: Lottie Faye of Shelburne, NS and Marilyn Belong (Charlie) of Digby, NS; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Marian, son-in-law, Glenn; and siblings: Raymond, Gordon and Kenneth.
