In Loving Memory of Leona J. Willoughby

1947 – 2025

Leona Jean Willoughby of Miramichi, NB and formerly of Oshawa, ON, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on March 29, 2025 at the age of 77.

Born in Bowmanville, ON, on December 25, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Annie (Bottrell) Ferguson.  

Leona Worked for General Motors for many years.  She loved to volunteer in the Miramichi Retirement Community.

Leona is survived by her husband, George Willoughby; two daughters: Anne Hubbell (Lee) of Oshawa, ON and Deanna Sundberg (Todd) of Havelock, ON; four grandchildren: Rebecca, Alexandra (Ryan), Breanna (Oskar) and Ashley (Jake); two great-grandchildren: Kaid and Rosie; two sisters: Irene Herrington of Newcastle, ON and Bernice Dale (Will) of Heisler, AB; two brothers: Dave Ferguson (Marie) of Lindsay, ON and Glen Ferguson (Donna) of Marshall, SK; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters: Evelyn and Gloria, brothers: Bruce, Doug and Roy.

As per Leona’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Interment will be held in Ontario at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
