Joseph Harvey Young of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on January 15, 2025, at the age of 94.  He was surrounded by nephews Darren and Denis (Patsy), and long-time friends Reg and Josie Carroll.

Born in Barryville, New Brunswick, on May 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Henry and Irene (Drouche) Young.  Harvey was a Carpenter by trade.  He attended St. Michael’s Basilica, and was a member of the Legion.

Harvey is survived by many nieces and nephews, and is the last surviving member of his immediate family.   He was predeceased by his parents, wife, Exilia (Legere) Young, four sisters: Mable, Lillian, Ruby, and Vicky, and three brothers: Wallace, Frankie, and Percy.

As per Harvey’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral mass.  A graveside service will be held at Portage River Cemetery later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
