The death of Marie “Irene” (Martin) Daigle wife of the late Josephat Daigle of Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Escuminac, NB, occurred on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Baie Ste. Anne, NB, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Pheobe (Rousselle) Martin. Prior to her retirement, Irene worked at O’Neill’s Fish Plant in Escuminac, NB. She enjoyed baking and loved to watch cooking shows.

Irene is survived by her daughters: Aurea Daigle Nickerson (Kenneth) of Bay du Vin, NB; Angele Manuel (Jim Tucker) of Miramichi, NB; sister: Joanne Robichaud (Arsene) of Miramichi, NB; grandchildren: Aderice Daigle and Nicholas Manuel (Sasha); great grandchildren: Jamie Daigle, Miya Daigle, Briana Manuel and Thomas Manuel.

Besides her parents and husband, Irene is predeceased by brothers: Fred (Mary), Normand (Maltide) and sister: Loudivine.

At Irene’s request there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Ste. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Baie Ste. Anne, NB, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 4 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
