The death of Elwood George Martin, of Esgenoôpetitj, occurred on Friday, March 7, 2025, at his residence at Complexe Rendez-vous, Neguac, at the age of 73. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Louie Martin and Hazel Paul.

Elwood is survived by daughters: Kelli Bonnell (Manuel) and Jacqueline Bonnell (Andre) both of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; sons: Robert Martin (Natalie) and Nigel Bonnell (Samantha) both of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; sisters: Barbara Martin, Marie Fraser, Lisa Martin; brothers: John “Albert” Martin, Sean Pecor; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by siblings: Sandra Martin, Maxime Martin, Lillian Murtha.

The family will receive visitors at Kelli’s residence, 730 Micmac Road, Esgenoôpetitj, NB, after 7pm Thursday, March 13, 2025, and again on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, March 15, at 11 o’clock with Fr. Cornelius Ngurukwem officiating.
