Dr. Allan "David" Crocker passed away suddenly on the afternoon of Friday, November 22, 2024, at the age of 78. David is survived by his wife, Donna, children Sandy, and Evan, siblings, Jane (Jackie), and Elspeth (Bob). He is preceded in death by his son, Jason, and his parents, Rowland and Martha, of Newcastle, NB.

David was born on April 14, 1946, in Newcastle, NB, to Rowland and Martha Crocker. He graduated from Dalhousie in 1967, with a bachelor’s degree in science, and completed a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie in 1971. He married Donna, the love of his life, in 1969. David practised dentistry for the West Prince community, Tignish, PEI, for 43 years. An avid reader, bridge player, woodworker, model railway enthusiast, beekeeper, blueberry grower, boater, and he had a love of land and sea. David was also a faithful steward as a lay reader, loving husband, proud father, and faithful friend.

David is fondly remembered for his involvement with the Shriners, the Masonic Order, and he was past-president of the PEI Dental Association, past-president of the National Dental Examining Board, executive board member of the Canadian Dental Association, Fellow of the American College of Dentists, Fellow of Pierre Fauchard Academy, member of the Royal Canadian Legion, member of the West Prince Wild Blueberry Grower’s Association, brother of Sigma Chi, Scoutmaster, and past-president of the Alberton Minor Hockey Association. He was known for having a positive impact on the lives of many through his involvement in various community and provincial organizations.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral on Thursday afternoon from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, for funeral service with Holy Eucharist at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Jay MacDonald and Rev. Cathy Pharo, celebrants. Interment in St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Western Hospital Equipment Fund would be gratefully appreciated. Zetland Lodge #7 will hold a Masonic service for their late Brother at the Rooney Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m

David’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Morash, the Alberton Fire Department, Island EMS, and staff at Rooney Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be live-streamed on the Rooney Funeral Home Facebook page on Thursday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m.
