With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we share the passing of Delalene Harris Foran, a spirited adventurer, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, who left this world far too soon.

She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on May 22, 2025, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 75. Delalene was born in Halcomb, NB, she was the daughter of Gloria (Murphy) and the late Delmont Foran.

Delalene was never one to sit still. She lived each moment with energy, passion, and purpose. Her days typically began with early morning workouts at the gym—finishing them before most even contemplated getting out of bed—and from there, she filled every day with activity. Whether she was walking her beloved dog Harley, speeding down the road on her Harley or Can-Am motorcycle, cruising in a convertible, 4x4, limo, or RV, hiking the trails of French Fort Cove, kayaking on the river, paddleboarding, or conquering Bald Mountain on her Ski-Doo, she was always in motion, seeking her next adventure. She had a special talent for turning mundane moments into laugh-out-loud adventures, whether by joking with the kids on her bus or cracking up her friends with a perfectly timed one-liner.

Her career as a bus driver was a reflection of her generous spirit, as she touched many lives, bringing joy to those who rode with her daily. Delalene’s kindness and her boundless energy made her an unforgettable presence to those fortunate enough to know her. You were never just a passenger when Delalene was behind the wheel—you were part of the ride.

Delalene’s zest for life was matched only by her ability to connect with others. She had a heart as big as her sense of adventure, and she never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her love for her family was immense—she especially enjoyed hearing stories about her family and friends’ children—eagerly celebrating their accomplishments.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Hubert Harris, her stepson Jason Harris (Shauna), and her two grandchildren, Callie and Tori. She was the daughter of Gloria and the late Delmont Foran and sister to Joanne Somers (Roger), Ruth Mullin, Rita Goodfellow (David), Barbara Frenette, Faye Foran, Debbie Matchett (Leonard), Danny Foran (Darlene), and brother-in-law George Mironenko. Delalene was also deeply loved by her numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Mironenko and brother-in-law Roger Frenette.

Delalene leaves behind countless stories, endless inspiration, and a legacy of living boldly. She taught us all to embrace life with positivity, courage, and a smile, and her influence will continue to resonate with all who knew her. To her family and countless friends from coast to coast, she was one of a kind.

On behalf of our family, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Haddad, Dr. Losier and the entire staff at both Miramichi Regional Hospital and Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Delalene during her time with you. Your kindness, professionalism, and dedication made an incredibly difficult time a little more bearable, and we are so thankful for everything you did.

A funeral service will be held at Jardine Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 11 o’clock with Pastor Matthew Porter officiating.
