The death of Anne Shirley (Underhill) MacDonald RN, wife of the late John MacDonald of Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Red Bank, NB, occurred on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Newcastle, NB, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Gillis) Underhill. Anne lived in Moncton for 43 years where she retired after 39 years of Nursing. Anne was a faithful Choir member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church for many years.

Anne is survived by her sister: Patricia “Patsy” (late Fred) Gallant of Red Bank, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents and husband, Anne is predeceased by siblings: Gerald Underhill (Edna), Mary Theresa Hamilton (Gordon), Emily Somers (Lawrence) and nephews: Wayne Somers and Joshua Gallant.

A private visitation will be held and a public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, NB, on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11 AM with Father Peter Igwe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
