Thomas “Tommy” Edward Murphy of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on April 30, 2025, at the age of 71.

Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, on October 20, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert and Joyce (O’Brien) Murphy.  Tommy was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica, and the Knights of Columbus.  He coached hockey, but his true passion was refereeing hockey games.  He truly loved playing Bingo, and going to dances.

Tommy is survived by his three sisters:  Theresa Malley (Leonard) of Miramichi, New Brunswick; Bonny Harnish (Jake) of Saint John, New Brunswick; and Lillian Brown (Douglas) of Miramichi, New Brunswick; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, David and Vince.

Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a Funeral Liturgy of the Word to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, with The Reverend Father David Rioux as celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
