It is with loving hearts we say goodbye to our mom, grandmother and great grandmother, Mary Helen “Shirley” Estey, who passed away on Sunday, June 22,2025 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 89 with family by her side.
Shirley was so proud to be born and raised in Red Bank, NB. She was the daughter of the late Wilmore and Leola (Sutherland) Dunn.

She was lovingly known as Gram or “Ole Bam” to 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband Clayton (2011), Shirley is predeceased by her youngest son: Timmy (2012), brothers: Jim, Lawrence and Martin Dunn and sisters: Monica Buckle, Leola Dutka, Joan Smith, Rosemary Slavik, Veronique (Bonnie) Parks.
Shirley was a homemaker and worked at various jobs over the years including Estey’s Fish and Chips. She was devoted to her family. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and children that came to be family, brought her the greatest happiness. She loved to chat and through her relentless sense of humor, bring a smile and laughter to everyone around her. She had a unique way of making people feel distinct and welcome, from her childhood friends, who she kept close over the years, to her lifetime friends and extended family in Sevogle. She showed extraordinary strength in her faith and determination to remain with us for as long as she could.
The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Thursday, June 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. James Roman Catholic Church, Sevogle on Friday, June 27th at 2:00 with Father Peter Igwe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
