Francine “Kay” Blakely of Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on May 22, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born in Chatham, NB, on August 18, 1952, she grew up in Baie-Sainte-Anne. She was the daughter of the late Edouard and Imelda Martin. Kay was a factory worker, working most of her life at the fish plant. She attended Sainte-Anne’s Catholic Church.

Kay was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. With a huge heart and a smile that would light up the room. Her son and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she truly enjoyed spoiling them. She helped care for so many people throughout her life. She had so many friends she cherished dearly.

Kay had a passion for cooking, bingo and shopping-but most of all her family.

Kay is survived by her son, Alban Thériault (Melanie) of Saint John, NB; two grandchildren: Jocelyn (Alex) and Evan; three sisters: Martina Richard (Ernest) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB, Ledwine Thériault (Jules) of Moncton, NB and Rejeanne Martin (Zoel) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB; one brother, Edouard Martin (Charline) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB; as well as many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents, husbands: Marcel Martin and Herbert Blakely. Her brothers, Rudolphe, Jean-Paul, Zoel, and Valérie (Bonita). Sisters, Odette McIntyre (Donald), Eleonore Savoie (Aldéric).

Visitation will be held at Sister Blondine Martin Slumber Room, 5353 Route 117, Baie-Sainte-Anne on Tuesday evening, May 27, 2025, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 4 PM with The Reverend Father Jean Belisle as Celebrant.  Interment will be in Sainte Annes Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Percy’s Place would be appreciated by the family or the Palliative care unit at Miramichi Regional Hospital.
