It is with full hearts and tremendous sadness that we mark the quiet passing of our beloved wife, mother, and mémère, Dorina Haché of Miramichi on March 13, 2025, just one month shy of her 91st birthday. Dorina was born on April 13, 1934, in Pont Gravé, NB, daughter of the late Adolphe and Maria (Comeau) Hachey. She was the eldest daughter of a large family.
In June of 1953 she married the love of her life Azade Haché and spent the next 72 years being the most adored by her one and only. When you saw them together, they were the epitome of the loving couple you read about in storybooks. They helped each other grow well past their prime and held hands until her final breath. She was strong in her Catholic faith and attended St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church until her health declined in recent years.
In a quiet way she lived a big life, through her love and devotion to her family. She bore ten children, who along with Azade raised some pretty amazing people who became strong members of the community and their church. She was a strong advocate for children and gave unselfishly to those in need, even through the hard times. She kept her family very involved in school functions and along with Azade they were strong supporters of all their children’s sporting endeavors. They attended all the home games and were parents-in-charge of many away events for all softball, volleyball, basketball, track & field and hockey games. The Haché trophy wall is a testament to her dedication to these events.
She and Azade were regulars on the river boating scene for many years and provided endless boat rides, fishing expeditions and general family boating shenanigans for many years, passing that torch to their eldest son who continues to delight guests on Miramichi River Boat Tours.
She was a Master Bread Baker, an incredible bargain hunter, an avid gift-giver and a generous provider to all her family and extended families. She loved comedy and music and especially loved hosting her many family holiday events.
She will be greatly missed by loving husband, Azade Haché Sr; her ten children: Madeleine Browning (William), Lina Hache (Lesley Somers), Yolande Rogers (David), Marga Wormell (Harry), Velma Savoy (Kenneth), Doreen Hannah (Kevin), Azade Jr, Adolphe (Mary), Wayne (Sonya), Dennis (Paula); 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Ernest (Noella), Ovida (Odette), Mederic (Mildred), Achille (Noella), Bernard, Louisa (Dorima Sonier), Noella LeClair, Laurentienne (Adeoda Losier); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by sister: Jeannette Doiron (Gerald); brothers: Elzear (Elizabeth), Agnee (Stella).
The family will receive visitors at Jardine Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11 o’clock with Fr. Anthony Das Papu officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made out to Miramichi Hospice/Vondy House. Messages of condolence can be sent through the funeral home website: www.miramichifunerals.ca
