Mount St. Josephs Creates New Volunteer Program

By on August 16, 2012

Did you know, you have the ability to make a difference? Have you been searching for a volunteer experience that has power to positively impact the lives of others? At Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home and Foundation we are seeking to create a network of caring and compassionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents. We understand that many people in the community would love to share their time and talents with our residents but may be hesitant because they are not familiar with the facility and may not know how to begin the process.

In light of this, Kimberley Shaddick, Volunteer Coordinator for the Foundation, and Iris Sullivan, Foundation Director, have developed an exciting new Volunteer Program called “Friends Thru the Ages”. To introduce and launch the program they will be hosting two information sessions to be held on August 20th from 2-3 pm and August 21 from 6:30-7:30 pm to introduce the Program.

We are seeking volunteers to assist us with the many needs of the residents, such as one to one visiting, group activities, musical programs, reading, computers, card games, bingo, walking, palliative care, skyping, emailing, as well administration support in the Foundation office, etc. This program will introduce volunteers with a mentoring step by step process to enhance your experience as a Volunteer at Mt. St. Joseph Foundation and Nursing Home.
