Brian was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Brian will be having major surgery in Halifax in the next few weeks to have his panceras removed. Lots of items on site to bid on.

What exactly is a community garden?
Simply put, a community garden is a single piece of land collectively gardened by a group of people for a number of reasons from recreation, building community or growing produce for charity (Check out the list of benefits below). Because the garden is run by volunteers and receives no funding, members will be asked to contribute an annual membership fee of $15 a year to cover the costs of shared tools and other resources. we are asking that each member donate 5 hours of volunteer labour a year to the care for the garden as a whole.

MRMA Community Appreciation Awards | 2012-06-15 |
Details: Do you know someone who has made a significant difference in the life of a newcomer immigrant? Or a business or organization who go out of their way to help welcome and help promote diversity and multiculturism in the Miramichi?

The Miramichi Regional Multicultural Association is presenting three community appreciation awards. The awards are to recognize a business, an organization and an individual who have demonstrated exceptional and innovative efforts in welcoming and integrating newcomer immigrants to the Miramichi region.

Written nominations for any category are welcomed using the Appreciation Award nomination form available by contacting Ethel Sonier at ethel.sonier@mrma.ca or by dropping by the MRMA office.

Awards are announced and presented on Canadian Multiculturalism Day, 27 June at the annual MRMA Multicultural Dinner and Concert.
