Arbec Forest Products to receive first load of wood today

Arbec Forest Products will receive its first load of wood today. The wood was harvested by local woodlot owners. It’s been five years since the mill closed its doors by the previous owner Weyerhaeuser. Arbec is projecting that new housing construction in North America will rebound in 2013 and a there will be a demand in the market for its ‘waferboard’ product expected to be produced in Miramichi.

This is all fine and dandy, get the Mill up and running again and get people back to work. But,on the other hand there is Miramichi Lumber, a Mill that has been operating on the river for over 100yrs,this Government has given Arbec 15.3 million dollars to help them, and will not lift a finger to help Miramichi Lumber, our Mayor and Mr Robert Trevors should be outraged at what is happening here but they dont say a word in support of our situation, our future at the mill is very uncertain at this time and jobs will go if this situation does not change soon. Danny Anderson and Hal Raper haved worked tiresly to keep the mill operating and keep all us men working, and still this Government and our elected officials seem to do nothing but put up more roadblocks. You got a lot of explaining to do Mr Alward .This is my opinion.
